If you’ve dreamed of going to work from the sofa and never having to deal with the outdoors or real humans ever again, your day has arrived. ‘Social VR platform’ Geekzonia is advertising for a VR Events Host – a full time job entirely in virtual reality.
The company says the role “would suit an enthusiastic and passionate geek” (that’s our entire reader base then) with “excellent communication skills” (*looks quizzically at Comments section*).
You’ll apparently be living in “a 24/7 virtual reality comic-con filled with the latest geek content from movie studios, games publishers, TV networks and geeky brands.” Sounds awful. BRB, just updating my CV.
Geekzonia (not the most creative name, guys) is due to launch this summer. The successful candidates (there are multiple positions in the UK and US) will be working from home, with all the necessary VR hardware supplied. You’ll also get hourly breaks to take the headset off and remember what the real world looks like. Shudder.

This role would suit an enthusiastic and passionate geek with excellent communication skills. We have several open positions located in the UK and the US on a work from home basis. The company will supply a VR headset and required hardware.
Experience in either events hosting, promotions or sales is preferable and candidates must be prepared to spend a large part of the working day using a VR headset (with hourly breaks). A fanaticism for geek culture is also essential for everybody in our company.
